Stuffed Toy

We have many birthdays to celebrate in the autuum. Just as the birthday of my nephew and godson. For him I sewed a stuffed toy with a zippered mouth. He like green and orange, so I hope he like his toy too. My kid's wanted also a stuffed toy, maybe I sewed some for Christmas. We'll see.

A tutorial for such a stuffed toy can you find on the website of  Marja Katz.

Wallet for Heros

For a boy who had his very first day at school I sewed a little wallet for the bus ticket and some money. The pattern is made by myself and the fabric is taken from a suprise package from "Micha's Stoffecke" and is called "Supahero". Have I told you that I love surprise packages?

Reversible Bag

As a birthday present I sewed a reversible bag. I took the free pattern from here, a pair of pants that no longer wear and a fabric with flowers all over. One of these flowers is attached on the outside (or inside...whatever). And here is the bag.

Week Three: Decoration Made of Fabric

In week three of Emma's fabric downsizing project it's all about decoration made of fabric. I sewed some baskets for the shelf in the kid's room.

The baskets are made of felt, with different woven ribbons on the front side and a handle. I punched some holes along the edges and stiched with woll yarn all around. Look's very good for the shelf.

Week Two: Cosmetic Case and free Pattern

Since 6th October the second week of Emma's fabric downsizing project is online. I concider about the topic "Cosmetic Case" and I come to realized that I don't need any big cases. Usually I have not so much make up or other stuffs. I made a simple pattern by myself and try out if it works.

pattern size: 20 x 30 cm
I used a pants of my daugther that doesn't fit anymore for the outer fabric and sewed a real girly like case. The crochet ribbon is perfect for these kind of fabric theme. I like ordinary colors and these pink case is nothing I kept for myself. Note to me: Chrismas is coming soon ;o) .

The case was easy to sew, so I think I make some more. And I have also some of these fabric with roses on it.

Pillow Blanket and a little How to...

I had another pillow for week one of  Emma's project of fabric downsizing.

I sewed a pillow blanket. A what...? A pillow blanket is a pillow with an hiding blanket inside. Such an pillow is easy to sew, only you do it like me and take frezzer paper to print and sewed a patchworks square. This takes a lot of time.

If we were on a road trip, the kids sleep in the car. Now I sewed a pillow that can be used as a blanket too. I taken some fleece and sewed a square fabric in the middle of the upper side. For this square I took frezzer paper to printed a golden "A".

On the next step I cut two other squares that are a little bit smaller than the first. The one is made of kind of a patchwork and the other is again printed with frezzer paper. Than I sewed two squares right sides together, leave an opening to turn it. Then I sewed around the square and I even close the opening in this step.

I sewed these smaller square onto the first square but leave an opening at the bottom. After this step I neaten the hole blanket with bias tape. You're done!

Now I put the blanket into the opening at the bottom and have a pillow. If the kids wanted to sleep, they can grab the blanket out and (hopefully) sleeps till we arrive at the place.
